The lotus flower grows in the mud, in rough conditions, and because of that it's beauty is all the more accentuated. It also uses its surroundings as fuel for its growth. I often think that this is what transformation or change looks like. It is not clean, neat, or comfortable. It can feel overwhelming and disorienting. Yet, in the center of it all, there is peace to be found.
Spirited to me means exhibiting vibrancy, depth, and a connectedness to something greater than ourselves.
