This artwork reflects my deep passion for geographical maps and my desire to merge that passion with art. Maps have always fascinated me—not only as tools for orientation, but as visual representations of our world, full of stories, connections, and hidden beauty. In this piece, I reinterpret cartographic elements through an artistic lens, transforming lines, borders, and shapes into something more fluid and expressive.
For me, this work is a way of seeing the world beyond its physical and political divisions. While maps traditionally define boundaries, my intention is to dissolve them, inviting the viewer to imagine a world without barriers. It is an exploration of unity, where continents and territories are no longer separated, but connected through color, texture, and form.
This painting is in honour of Queen Elizabeth II. This is how I can imagine the british empire/world with an ocean resembling her profile as depicted on pound coins.
