Part of the conceptual series Urban Readings, this artwork approaches the city as a text shaped by memory, light, and human presence. Through layers of charcoal and oil, architecture becomes more than a physical structure: it transforms into a repository of stories, emotions, and traces of lived experience.
The illuminated windows resemble watchful eyes emerging from the rain-soaked urban landscape, suggesting unseen lives hidden behind walls and facades. Reflections dissolve the boundaries between reality and remembrance, inviting the viewer to “read” the city as a living archive where every surface preserves fragments of time.
Rather than depicting a specific place, Rainy Eyes explores the emotional dimension of urban space, where solitude, memory, and light coexist in a silent dialogue.
