This work is part of the series Gazes and is rooted in the concept of Anima Mundi - the living soul of the world. A dense jungle unfolds through layered foliage and filtered light, within which halb of a jaguars's face emerges: an eye, a nose, fragments of its patterned fur.
In many cultures, the jaguar is a guardian of the forest, a being that moves between the visible and the hidden worlds. In the forest, animals often remain unseen, concealed by instinct and caution. Yet invisibility does not mean absence. The jaguar is part of a perceiving whole: it watches, listens, remembers. Nature is not a Backdrop here, but a conscious counterpart - aert, sentient and returning our gaze.
