The Light Within

This artwork, created using layer upon layer of paper, acrylics, pigment and charcoal on canvas, presents a forest, of bare interlocking trees. This labyrinth of trees (wherein we all wander), looking like bleached bones in the moonlight, is a depiction of all the limitations imposed on us upon entering the world, of all the obstacles we will encounter. But there are openings, through which the light flows in, as no one can escape the labyrinth. And this light grows brighter when we strive to push our limits further, to broaden our horizons, to become smarter, stronger, bolder, wiser, just, tender, humane, so as to achieve inner freedom and growth.
