The Silver Thread of Memory is an AI-assisted digital composition developed through continuous artistic direction, selection and refinement. Inspired by the legend of Kyra Frossini (Lady Frossini) and the seventeen women drowned in Lake Pamvotis in 1801, the work transforms a silver ring into a symbol of love, power, loss and fate. Against a midnight-blue, velvet-like field recalling the lake at night, a single metallic line traces the Fethiye Mosque and the water’s ripples, evoking Ioannina’s filigree tradition, where metal becomes thread. A Greek folk verse encircling the ring, “a ring fell into the waters of the lake”, connects the image in oral memory. Generative AI acts not as an autonomous creator, but as a contemporary chisel guided by human intention. Conceived also for tactile embossing, the work invites the image to be read by both hand and eye. Silver becomes a fragile luminous trace through which identity, trauma and craftsmanship endure.
