Under the skin.

The painting shows something that is actually beneath (or rather, inside) the woman's skin, but which at the same time represents her identity, her armor and her life.
Despite the thorns surrounding her, her gaze is proudly turned upward. But this is only appearance; the tattooed ramifications indicate the consequences of painful choices. Only her gaze betrays her, as a tear falls. The artwork is created with a mixed media: oil and acrylic paint on canvas.
