Dimensions 156 × 106 × 3 cm

Part of my Greek Mythology series, this work began as a concept sketch created in my studio nearly two years ago. After exploring different shells, poses, and compositions, the vision gradually came to life.
Drawing inspiration from multiple favourite Old Masters paintings, several elements are woven into the final piece. Reimagining the timeless myth through a blend of past and present, it features figures inspired by Sea Melodies by Draper (1904), The Birth of Venus by Bouguereau (1879), Birth of Venus by Buhler (1877), and the ethereal horses and goddesses from The Triumph of Time by Elliott (circa 1900). The ocean and sky were photographed in Greece (Crete) and Italy (Sicily), while the vintage shell, spheres, and self-portrait were photographed in the home studio.
Created over several years, the work combines approximately 500 layers of photography, hand-painted details, and digital brushwork inspired by classical painting techniques.
