I am Anne-Marie Verpoucke, I am Belgian. I studied plastic arts for five years in Bruges in the late 1960s. After my studies, I worked in a ceramics studio for a few years. Afterwards, I designed upholstery fabrics. I am a professional painter and have held occasional exhibitions of naive art. I was commissioned to create impressionistic paintings of gardens from 1989 to about 1999. Then I switched to photography. Over the years, I have experimented with various styles, techniques, and materials. Always on the lookout for new things. During the COVID period, I started painting again. I also work with polymer clay, creating organic forms due to their imperfection, working more with my hands and building up. I never make a preliminary sketch. A bit of Rococo style, a bit of kitsch. The landscape paintings I started in 2026 are all imaginary. Sometimes impressionistic, sometimes abstract expressionist, sometimes semi-abstract.
