Claudio Rigacci – “Homo”
Born in Florence in 1970.
Claudio Rigacci took his first steps into the world of sculpture in a marble workshop, where he mastered essential techniques and manual skills. After creating some early works—which have sadly been lost over time—his curiosity and desire to learn new methods led him to apprentice under a master woodcarver in his Florence studio-laboratory. This encounter with fresh materials and stimuli marked a decisive turning point in his artistic journey.
Rigacci returned to carving with renewed energy, exploring the infinite possibilities of intertwined and curved lines—hallmarks of his distinctive style. His creations, both in wood and in marble, evoke sensations of freedom, imagination, and redemption.
He recently exhibited at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, as well as in Luxembourg, Basel, Munich, and his native Florence. For the first time at the Florence Biennale, he is presenting a work in marble that remains in the midst of its creation—an invitation to witness the very process of artistic transformation.
