David Sibbitt is an active American oil painter in Tampa, Florida. He earned his MFA from the University of California, Berkeley, studying under Joan Brown and Elmer Bischoff within the San Francisco Bay Area Figurative tradition. His paintings flicker between irony and discomfort with unsettling juxtapositions. Work by Sibbitt was recently exhibited at the Tampa Museum of Art and is currently on view at Art Center Sarasota. He is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.
