France, 1950

Dominique Bollinger was a renowned French fine-art photographer known for his evocative black-and-white landscapes and architectural studies, particularly of Italy where he lived from 1986 until his death. Style and Work Bollinger initially worked in color photography during the 1980s, focusing on landscapes in France, the United States, and Mexico. After moving to Rome, he switched almost exclusively to black and white, believing it captured "the essence of the things" more directly. Bollinger's work has been exhibited in Europe and the United States, published internationally and is held in the permanent collections of major institutions, including the Centre Georges Pompidou and the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris. He also undertook commercial works for clients such as Ikea, Patek Philippe, and Pioneer. Since his passing in October 2023, his wife has continued to manage his artistic legacy and work.
