Joseph Edward Jefferson III is an African American abstract expressionist artist from Houston, Texas, and a 1999 graduate of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Rooted in disciplined draftsmanship yet liberated by intuition, his paintings reject straight lines in favor of layered movement, camouflage, frequency, and elemental force. A U.S. Army veteran, Jefferson channels the tension between structure and chaos into acrylic and oil compositions that pulse with energy and transmission. Shaped by his legacy as a musician, Eagle Scout, husband, and father of three boys, his work reflects resilience, depth, and multidimensional love.
