Karolina Olownia is a Polish visual artist working across video art, performance, painting, sculpture, costume, and scenography. Her practice explores the relationship between the body, memory, endurance, and the invisible forces that shape human experience. A painterly approach to image, light, and composition plays a significant role in her work, extending into performance, moving image, and sculptural forms.
She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Drawing from experience in theatre, film, and immersive environments, she creates works situated between image, body, and materiality. Her practice combines performative action with sculptural structures, often exploring how form can transform, support, or constrain the body.
Alongside her artistic practice, Olownia designs sculptural costumes, masks, and large-scale wearable forms for performances, events, and immersive productions. She has collaborated on film productions, VR projects, artistic fashion scenography, and completed an internship at the National Theatre in Warsaw. This ongoing engagement with the transformation of the body through form and material continues to inform her artistic work.
