Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1985
Dr. Art. Kristina Ćavar (b. 1985, Doboj, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a visual artist working in painting and ceramic art. She graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Mostar (2008), and received her MA in Ars Sacra (2010). In 2026 she earned a Doctor of Arts degree with the dissertation The Symbolism of the Star in Sacred Painting.
Ćavar has presented her work in 35 solo exhibitions and more than 160 group exhibitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad. She is the recipient of several awards and professional recognitions, and her works are included in the permanent collection of the Franciscan Museum and Gallery in Široki Brijeg. Her artistic practice explores symbolism, sacred imagery, celestial signs, and the relationship between spiritual experience and contemporary visual language.
