Kristina Kinkela Valčić is a Croatian visual artist and educator working across painting, print-informed processes, and spatial interventions. Her practice is grounded in an exploration of materiality, perception, and the construction of identity, often unfolding through layered, process-based approaches that blur the boundaries between image, surface, and object.
She frequently works with reduced chromatic palettes; most notably within the spectrum of ultramarine and indigo; developing works that oscillate between organic and geometric structures, as well as between two-dimensional and spatial forms. Through this, she examines presence, trace, and the subtle tensions between permanence and transformation.
Alongside her artistic practice, she is engaged in pedagogical work and doctoral research focused on cultural identity and the role of local communities in shaping contemporary cultural narratives.
