Luís Baganha de Freitas is a Portuguese artist whose work explores the relationship between nature, landscape, and emotional perception through drawing. Alongside his artistic practice, he studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, developing a deep and lasting connection with the natural world, particularly with plant forms and organic structures. His creative process is strongly influenced by the dialogue between art and landscape architecture, disciplines that continuously inform and inspire one another in his work. Through drawing, Luís explores atmosphere, memory, and the subtle tensions between humanity and nature. Currently based in Faro, Portugal, he divides his time between artistic practice and landscape architecture. His work has been presented in several solo and collective exhibitions, as well as international biennials, including the 7th London Biennale (2025), the 8th Espinho International Art Biennial (2025), the 6th Gaia International Art Biennial (2025), the 2nd Alentejo International Art Biennial (2025), and the Algarve International Art Fair (2023). In 2025, he received an Honourable Mention at the 2nd Alentejo International Art Biennial and was featured in the publication 100 Artists of Europe 2025 by Culturale Lab.
