Aida Asa is a Tokyo-based contemporary artist. Working from the idea of “a world without translation”—a realm before language and social categories shape experience—Asa explores a perceptual tremor between immaterial images and the material body. Recent works such as SuikA and Light turn sustained attention to a single familiar thing, opening onto questions of self, otherness, prayer-like attention, and the possibility of understanding. Asa was selected for NordArt 2025.
