Maurizio Capannesi (MaoSagao) is an Italian artist and designer based in Barcelona. After a career as an epidemiologist in the Netherlands, he devoted himself to art and design. His work explores the relationship between order and complexity through geometric urban landscapes. He has received international design awards, including a Red Dot and two A’ Design Awards. In 2025 he exhibited at Superstudio during Milan Design Week and was selected by Arte Laguna Prize to exhibit in Shanghai.
