Germany, 1965
Merete de Kruyf (1965) lives and works in the Feldberg Lake District in Germany. In her work she explores ambiguous spaces that suggest hidden connections, creating liminal worlds with narrative traces that nevertheless lack definitive clarity. The combination of painterly, aleatoric, tactile surfaces with photographic prints generates a visual tension that feels both open-ended and melancholic-surreal. Central to her practice is an exploration of the unstable self, shaped by memory, perception, and reflection.
