Piero Cauduro is an Italian photographer specializing in photojournalism and fine art photography. His journey into the world of images has deep roots, originating from a strong passion cultivated on the field since 2003 and consolidated over time through continuous visual, technical, and conceptual research. In 2022, at the age of 65, he achieved a major milestone in his academic training by graduating with honors and earning a diploma in Photojournalism from the prestigious New York Institute of Photography (NYIP). This achievement reflects his deep dedication to the discipline and his commitment to blending a solid, mature personal expression with modern international visual storytelling techniques.Cauduro’s artistic production is distinguished by a unique and recognizable visual style, focused heavily on the geometric study of light, the expressive use of reflections, and the intrinsic dynamism of daily life. His images go beyond merely documenting the surrounding reality; they interpret it through a sophisticated fusion of aesthetic sensitivity and intellectual curiosity. Each shot serves as an independent narrative fragment, capturing the constant flux of existence, the motion of urban spaces, and the subtle nuances of human progress and regression. Within his work, light operates simultaneously as a fundamental structural element and a clear conceptual framework, transforming ordinary scenes and fleeting moments into highly impactful emotional compositions. The value of his continuous research has gained significant recognition within major international exhibition circuits and contests. In 2021, Cauduro participated in the London Art Biennale, a prominent event that firmly established his presence in the contemporary photography scene. The following year, in 2022, the quality of his work was further recognized by the scientific committee of the Premio Fondazione Amedeo Modigliani, where he was selected as a finalist in the Digital Art category. The ongoing consolidation of his exhibition career is further highlighted by his upcoming participation as an official exhibitor at the upcoming Milano Photo Awards scheduled for September. These achievements demonstrate his ability to engage with the complex language of global contemporary art while maintaining a strong, coherent autorial identity. Currently, the photographer is dedicated to an investigative project focusing on post-industrial Italian cities, developed through a rigorous black-and-white visual language. Regarding this research, he states: “My lens scratches the veneer of well-being to reveal the decline of post-industrial cities.” Within this framework of urban deconstruction and rediscovery, his visual philosophy mirrors the celebrated quote by Federico Fellini: “Nothing is known, everything is imagined.”
