Wei uses various mediums in creating artworks including acrylic, oil, and ink. She started drawing portraits as hobby in 2013, and began painting abstracts in 2016 as an outburst of her then gloomy days. As she continued to ponder on countless things about life, purpose, and existence, Wei was able to explore more into the world of art. Today, the main visage of her works depicts landscape, flora, and fauna. Being an environmental scientist, her love for nature drives her choice of subject. To Wei, spontaneity is at the heart of her works. She enjoys getting immersed into the flow of spontaneous creative energy where she doesn’t have to think of “what should be” or “how it should be”. This approach helps her be in the present and allow creativity to emerge naturally.
