Sacha Colvin is a contemporary artist based in Gladstone, Missouri painting in oils on canvas since 1978, developing a visual language that balances representation and abstraction, drawing on inspiration from landscape, memory and moments of quiet observation.
Colvin's world explores the emotional and internal responses evoked by the natural world through layered, luminous surfaces with a palette that is intuitive and expressive rather than descriptive, the paintings reflect something remembered and felt creating a space where the viewer can enter through familiarity while engaged wth ambiguity.
Sacha Colvin attended the California College of Arts & Crafts and received a B.A. degree in Art from Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri. Colvin has exhibited nationally in the USA and internationally in Berlin, Germany and Madrid, Spain, continuing a long standing commitment to painting as a means of connection, reflection and visual discovery, she is currently working on a series for a Solo Exhibit.
