Shui-Lyn White is a Cape Town-based artist working in monotype and expanded printmaking. Initially self-taught, she apprenticed for over a decade with South African master printmaker Christiaan Diedericks, developing a materially grounded studio practice. Her work explores presence, transience and the formation of the image through processes of layering, erasure and reworking. Working primarily on cotton mould-made paper, she combines monotype, linocut and mixed media to produce singular works that remain open and provisional. White has exhibited internationally and has been a finalist in multiple biennales and print triennials.
