Art and music are the means through which I can express myself; due to my autism, it is difficult for me to communicate. Fortunately, I have found my means to express myself through art and music.
I attended art academies in Maastricht and Tilburg...
I create my sculptures by hand using a 3D pen. I saw my brother's children playing with this pen and thought, "I want that too..." I liked the technique so much that I continued with it.
I ended up in a burnout; I was working as an art director but didn't enjoy it—always visualizing other people's ideas—I wanted to create my own work.
During my burnout, I went back to my childhood. What did I like? I was always playing with Lego and making waterfalls in the garden, so I converted a caravan with a Lego train on the roof and a waterfall.
I draw my inspiration from my childhood; the beauty of it is that you don't get too carried away in your head, you just create.
I also don't make sketches; I just start creating, and something emerges during the process. That way, the process keeps me fascinated.
The material I use is made from recycled material
