Veronika Obushikhina is a contemporary artist living and working in Spain. Born in Russia in 1976, she has lived and worked in Spain since 2010. Her artistic practice is grounded in structural minimalism and explores space as a system shaped through balance, perception, and spatial relationships. Working primarily with painting, she creates precise geometric compositions in which architecture, horizon, emptiness, and figure are reduced to minimal forms and carefully balanced proportions. She is interested in states of silence, distance, and concentration, where space becomes an active environment and minimal form functions as a point of orientation within it. Human presence in her works remains restrained and proportional to the surrounding structure, emphasizing scale, perception, and inner condition rather than narrative. Alongside painting, she creates conceptual video works that continue her investigation of structure, space, and perception through time-based media. In 2025, she completed the International Art Communication Online School by Julia Sysalova / Institute of Mediterranean Culture. Her works are held in private collections across Europe and the United States.
