Newspaper Weaving EON 2

Weaving EON 2 consists of Russian and Dutch newspapers woven together. I chose to work with these two languages for this newspaper weaving because of the difference in their writing systems. Through the weaving, both writing systems become the background of non-sense to a symbol formed by woven, shibori-inked paper. The work creates an abstract symbol of eternity an EON out of what is destroyed and by weaving the paper strands together. By destroying newspapers only to weave them back together, I want to ask; in a world of endless information streams, how do we consume the news today.
