Japanese inks on handmade Japanese paper, stippling technique
“Ryuijin – The Dragon God of Water I” explores the relationship between inner balance, transformation, and fluid forms of power through a symbolic visual language informed by East Asian mythology and contemplative philosophy.
The dragon figure does not represent domination or aggression, but a force that flows, adapts, and transforms. Water functions as a symbol of continuous change, inner calmness, and inner transition, while the presence of the gate suggests a passage from external strength toward inner awareness.
Through the disciplined and time-intensive stippling technique, the work develops a meditative visual structure in which repetition, detail, and symbolic imagery become interconnected. Drawing from mythological archetypes and symbolic figuration, the composition invites the viewer into a reflective space shaped by balance, movement, and transformation.
