This 100 x 100 cm oil on canvas painting captures my view of Castel Sant’Angelo rising above the Tiber River during the spring of 2026. The square format anchors the Roman landmark, balancing historic architecture with fluid natural elements.

Castel Sant’Angelo dominates the upper portion of the canvas. The dynamic spring light hits the ancient stone, creating a play of warm ochre and cool violet shadows. In the foreground, I painted the waters of the Tiber reflecting the changing sky, breaking the historic monument's solid mass into fluid shapes. The Ponte Sant’Angelo spans the midground, its stone arches framing the water and leading the viewer's eye toward the castle entrance.

With this piece, I wanted to evoke a sense of timelessness mixed with seasonal renewal. By capturing the monument in the spring of 2026, my artwork bridges thousands of years of Roman history with a specific, fleeting moment in time.
