Avis Migrantis is a traveling installation composed of thirty watercolor postcards, each portraying a different migratory bird native to Venezuela. Suspended in space like a flock in motion, the postcards evoke the fragile trajectories of species crossing borders, climates, and continents. On the reverse side of selected cards, handwritten poems by migrants introduce a second layer of migration: human stories, memories, ruptures, and reinventions. The birds, always depicted in solitude, inhabit a vague and undefined environment — a kind of non‑space that mirrors the suspended condition of those who migrate. Conceived as an itinerant project, Avis Migrantis expands with every exhibition, adding new postcards and new voices from migrant communities. The Chianciano Biennale marks its first presentation, initiating a growing archive of flight paths and human stories. The selected images illustrate only a portion of the overall installation.
