Let me ask you a question: have you ever...been in love before? In love with ugly, the grotesque, and the crazy corners of a sick mind? A quiet love that needs only to be heard by the creature you adore, no outside validation. I have and if I could pause that moment forever, it would look like this. A Letter Of Love For A Twisted Mind is a carefully crafted piece that marvelously intertwines a poem with its visual representation. The work is a contemporary mixed-media exploration of Symbolism and Dark Romanticism, operating through the lens of the Divine Grotesque.

The central image is a unique, singular print pulled from the artist's very first copper plate, executed in the traditional acquaforte several years ago. All experimental test prints have been intentionally burned as an act of commitment to its singularity. No further prints will ever be pulled from the plate, rendering this piece as one of a kind. The margins of the print are adorned with a delicately applied 23k gold leaf, which is accompanied by an official certificate of authenticity. Both the gold leaf and the underlying engraving are sealed and protected using a specialized Kölner varnish. The entire artwork is meticulously mounted for conservation using archival hinges and wheat paste onto an acid-free board upholstered in a deep black faux-velvet material, protected by museum glass.

An expressive, textured border made out of liquid clay is framing the central piece. Stamped frenetically into the clay is the fleur-de-lis, as a reminder of the divine beauty a twisted mind holds. As a quiet whisper, behind the visual representation is the physical love letter itself—a raw, unedited poem dedicated to the dark side. The edges of the manuscript are burned, manifesting the fire of the passion held within its words.
