Painted from a live model in a concentrated, time-limited session, this work uses black ink on paper to explore the unstable threshold between representation and disappearance. The figure is not fully described; it emerges through washes, stains, and sharp dark accents, while large areas remain fluid and unresolved. This tension between precision and dissolution creates a sense of vulnerability, impermanence, and psychological presence. The face acts as an anchor, but the body resists closure, merging with the surrounding space and light. By withholding information, the work asks the viewer to participate in constructing the image, shifting the painting from mere depiction toward an experience of perception, memory, and human fragility.
