Self-taught French artist based in La Rochelle, Agathe de Chantérac explores the blurred boundary between the face and the mask through enigmatic figures and monochrome blue palettes. Working mainly with acrylic and oil, she develops an introspective universe marked by silence, emotional restraint and ambiguity of the gaze : suspended between impassive stillness and underlying intensity. Her work has recently been presented in local group exhibitions in France.
