Anna Yakusheva is a Ukrainian artist-researcher based in the UK and working in the style of metamodernism. She was born in 1991.
After achieving master’s degree as an academic artist and interior designer, she boldly and skilfully experiments with traditional and contemporary approaches to representation. Her practice explores transformation, perception and the evolving nature of human consciousness. Working across image, material and symbol, she develops immersive visual languages that invite the viewer into states of reflection and inner awareness.
At the core of her work is an authorial method, Quantum Collage, which combines watercolor with fragments of printed media. These elements drawn from contemporary visual culture are reassembled into layered compositions that function as both personal and collective archives. Through this process, Anna reflects on how meaning is constructed from fragmented experience, mirroring the fluid and evolving nature of perception.
Anna’s works is driven by an interest in moments of transition where identity, awareness and form are not yet fixed but continuously emerging. Rather than presenting fixed narratives, her works create open environments in which viewers are invited to pause, observe and engage in a dialogue with their own perception.
Through this approach, she seeks to create spaces that hold both stillness and transformation, where the boundaries between inner and outer experience begin to dissolve.
