Poland, 1978

Short Profile Barnaba Bonati is a Polish-Italian filmmaker and performer whose work flourishes at the intersection of two cultures and sensibilities—the Mediterranean and the Central European. His artistic practice merges film, sound, performance, and stage actions, creating a space for dialogue between the image and the audiosphere. In his work, he consistently explores the relationships between film narrative, the presence of the actor, and the structure of sound. Currently, he is a lecturer at the Institute of Animation and Games at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, where he develops educational projects related to film, sound design, and audiovisual experimentation. He is the author of scholarly publications dedicated to, among other things, the links between film and music, as well as the cultural tensions between Poland and Italy. Resume (Short) A director and screenwriter of short films and artistic projects, active since the early 2000s. In parallel, he develops his performance activity as an actor, soundtrack composer, and co-creator of stage actions (including projects at Fabryka Sztuki in Łódź and Teatr Logos). He has collaborated on film and commercial productions as an assistant director and sound recordist.
