Belgium, 1954
Born and based in Belgium, Hilde Emilia is a self-taught painter celebrated for her vivid use of color, working primarily with acrylics and mixed media on wooden boards and canvas.
Her artistic journey began with a foundation in textile arts, where she developed a deep appreciation for texture, color and form before transitioning to painting.
Fascinated by the realm of intuitive painting, Hilde found guidance and inspiration through creative communities such as Art Tribe, Art2life, Academy Alumni and ArtFuel, and further honed her skills through intensive masterclasses.
Drawing motivation from both the simplicity and vibrancy of daily life and the natural world, Hilde's work is characterized by a playful exploration of color, value, and design.
She approaches her practice with an open, experimental spirit, always seeking to refine her vision—stripping away what is unnecessary to allow her art and personal growth to flourish. This commitment to evolution and authenticity is at the heart of her ongoing series, which delves into the discipline of focus, both in life and in art.
Hilde's dedication has not gone unnoticed: she was a finalist at the London Art Biennale in July 2025. Ever hopeful and steadily evolving, she aspires to create paintings that resonate deeply, inviting viewers to connect with the vibrant energy and introspective honesty of her work.
