Xu Jiawen Karmen is a distinguished oriental contemporary artist, handcrafted jewellery designer and devoted meditator. She holds an MBA from the University of Hong Kong and London Business School, and further studied Middle Eastern Geopolitics at the University of Cambridge.
Deeply rooted in the wisdom of time-honored history and the philosophies of Zen, Confucianism, and Taoism, Karmen dedicates herself to the inheritance and interpretation of oriental aesthetics and spiritual cultivation. Her artistic practice centres on conceptual drawing and calligraphic abstraction. Her creative process is entirely spontaneous, guided by a natural meditative energy flow. Long-term mindfulness meditation allows her to create with an inner energy flow, letting art unfold organically as a spiritual expression of Eastern essence.
Her renowned work The Great Provider portrays a majestic baobab tree nurturing generations of life and cultural heritage, exhibited at Salon International d’Art Contemporain 2026, Carrousel du Louvre, Paris. It honours nature’s benevolence and conveys the lofty ideal of harmonious coexistence and universal unity of all beings.
Blending academic rigour, worldly wisdom, spiritual practice and oriental aesthetics, Karmen has forged a unique and compelling contemporary artistic voice.
