Sebastian Thomas is an Anglo-American artist has received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a double majoring in Painting and Creative Writing from the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) in 2017, and a Master’s degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2023. His experience includes artist residencies at Studio Arts College International in Florence, the AICAD Studio Residency in Brooklyn (NY), and the Ox-Bow Art and Artist Residency in Michigan. Since 2023, he has been a faculty member in the Painting and Drawing Department at SAIC. He has received the Municipal Art League Fellowship Award (2023), the Joseph & Emily Gidwitz Scholarship, and the Presidential Scholar Award from KCAI. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in venues such as the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center in Kansas City, Studio Arts College International in Florence, the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design in New York City, and the Zolla/Lieberman Gallery in Chicago.
