Olena Shyshkova is a Ukrainian-born artist currently living and working in California, USA. With an innate curiosity and passion for learning, Olena's creative journey began in the world of technology. Fascinated by numbers and logic, she became a self-taught software engineer and worked with top companies in Silicon Valley. In 2020, as the world shifted during global lockdowns, so did her path. Seeking a way to navigate isolation, Olena turned to painting — first as a coping mechanism, then as a calling. She discovered oil painting to be a powerful and mindful practice that allowed her to channel her emotions and reflections onto the canvas. Working in an expressive style, Olena uses oil paint to explore energy, movement, and emotion. Her work often captures the rhythm of the natural world, using bold brushwork and textured surfaces to evoke a sense of presence and feeling.
