Yaroslav Orlov is a Ukrainian-born painter based in New York. I have been drawing, painting, and sculpting since childhood, and that continuity is central to how I understand my practice. My work is figurative and personal. Through self-portraiture and the "Still Here" series, I map interior experience: its low seasons and its recoveries, its quiet endurance. Somber palettes give way to reds and yellows not as symbols but as honest records of change. The paintings function as a visual diary, one that doesn't soften what it documents. I work in large scale, in impasto, leaving texture and mark as evidence of process. The work is an invitation for viewers to find their own experience inside mine.
