Harmony

The Golden Lady series currently comprises about a dozen works. They are profiles of women immersed in nature that speak of an ancient feminine, when Mediterranean culture venerated the Mother Goddess as the generator of life. Women knew the properties of herbs, healed the sick, and lived in harmony with nature. Greek culture has passed down to us the beautiful goddess Venus, and the wood nymphs, guardians of fire. Sardinia also has a long, ancient history of "Janas," fairies who lived in caves and knew herbs. The Italian Renaissance itself celebrated Venus and women. Inspired by all this, I like to depict a woman-goddess, a wood nymph, a woman who knows nature.
"Harmony" is the woman of the future, one who walks freely and aware of herself and her value. The tree of life near her represents women's great gift of generating life. Bees are industrious and meticulously construct their space; they are messengers of good fortune. The woman's gaze is straight ahead, turned to the future.
