No air, no sun, no water

This monumental relief work, created from galvanized wire mesh, evolved over the course of a year through a labor-intensive process of cutting, shaping, and layering the material. Composed of hundreds of individually formed elements, the dense structure creates an organic landscape that simultaneously evokes lush vegetation, coral formations, and microscopic life forms.

An industrial material is transformed into a complex, almost living surface filled with movement, rhythm, and rich textures. The reflective quality of the metal mesh and the dramatic interplay of light and shadow further emphasize the spatial depth of the work, turning the wall into a dynamic field between sculpture and drawing.

The extended duration of the making process becomes an integral part of the work’s meaning. The repetitive acts of cutting, bending, and assembling the mesh mirror the slow processes of growth and transformation found in nature, while the title points to the fragility of ecosystems and the possibility of survival under conditions deprived of the basic requirements for life. The work explores the relationship between the natural and the artificial, creating a vision of an imaginary landscape that exists on the threshold between emergence and disappearance.
