Alejandra Mijares (Mexico City, b. 1988) is a painter based between Mexico and Milan whose practice investigates the biological and cosmological dimensions of human experience — creation, grief, consciousness, and the invisible forces that shape living things. Working in large-scale oil and acrylic, her work spans six bodies of work moving from ancient bone and geological landscape through the experience of pregnancy, motherhood, and loss, to the cosmic scale of the body as universe. Her paintings have been exhibited internationally, including at the Florence Biennale, MEAM - Beautiful Horions RFA projects— European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, and in Mexico City.
