I work with magnetic fields on the canvas. As a starting point, I use ferromagnets, various paints, and iron/metal shavings. With the help of magnets, I create shapes from the metal shavings and fix them to the canvas using paints, adhesives, and other liquids. I use permanent ferromagnets in different sizes and shapes, with which I can create various compositions and actively determine the character of the magnetic fields. I can give the works both an abstract and a representational expression. In my painting, another natural process is also included – the formation of rust – which gives my paintings earthy brown tones. In this way, I point to nature and its laws, which are often invisible to the human eye, but I can at least capture a brief moment of their existence on my canvases.
Another natural process is also involved in my painting – corrosion – which gives my works earthy brown tones. However, I can work with colors just as in "classical" painting, creating various color gradients. I can only control the corrosion of the metal shavings to a certain extent; the full color result will only become apparent after the drying period, which can take weeks. Therefore, waiting and observing the color changes is always a great adventure.
I was born in Olomouc (Czech Republic). I have lived in Erding, in the Munich area, since 2002.
