Mina Gechi is a fibre artist, land artist and poet. Her artistic journey, which began with land art, has over time been enriched by other materials that have always held her interest. In her installations, she uses plant material gathered in the woods or by the sea, to which she sometimes applies mosaic tiles made of glass paste. She also weaves fabrics on looms made from flexible branches and strung with hemp thread. She creates installations that convey messages raising awareness of key ecological issues, the status of women and gender equality. She explores the process of personal evolution and self-knowledge. She examines human behaviour and offers a critique of established dynamics such as stereotypes. Her installations can be found in the woods of Trentino, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy and Switzerland. Her fibre art piece Taboo was exhibited at the Eterno desiderio (2025) exhibition at Palazzo Broletto in Como as part of the international Miniartextil festival. As a writer, she has entered literary competitions, and some of her works have been included in award anthologies as unpublished poems. In 2024, Eretica Edizioni published her first collection of poems, for which she was awarded the Fiorino d'argento at the 2024 Firenze Europa Prize and first place at the 2025 I Murazzi Prize (Torino) in the ‘Women’s Poetry – Debut Work’ category.
