Germany, 1966
Tilmann Krumrey, born in 1966, is a sculptor, painter, and video artist. At the center of his work stands the human figure as the body language of existential states: vulnerability and violence, protection and desire, separation and connection.
Krumrey works with classical sculptural materials and techniques—particularly clay, plaster, wax, wood, and bronze. His life-size and monumental sculptures distill human relationships into physically palpable constellations, in which apparent opposites become integral parts of the same form.
