Additional Artwork Images: Artwork Description: “She Was Left with Only Her Memories” grew from my fascination with memories that are not entirely our own – stories inherited through history, photographs, books, and the lives of those who came before us. I am too young to remember World War II, yet its images and atrocities have…
Additional Artwork Images: Artwork Description: In this painting, from my series: A Most Ordinary Apocalypse, I imagine a world where desire, denial, and myth entwine beneath the flicker of a neon motel light. Set in a roadside room as the sun sets on a Sinatra-era Las Vegas, the painting captures a moment suspended between spectacle…
Additional Artwork Images: Artwork Description: A Summer Night’s Dream comes from my memories of being a teenager and sneaking into drive-in movies with friends – those summer nights were filled with scary movies, mischief, and the awkward discoveries of growing up. The title is a slightly revised version from a Shakespeare play, and I let…
Additional Artwork Images: Artwork Description: Still There Was Pudding and a Tree to Trim grew from one of my favorite Christmas childhood memories – my parents driving us down Tampa’s Christmas Card Lane, where enormous illuminated Christmas scenes seemed magical to us. In the painting, I return to that sense of wonder, but allow something…
Additional Artwork Images: Artwork Description: This painting is a reflection on the passing of my mother who passed at 94. I am rowing her as we move across troubled waters, carrying us out toward the open sea as signs of transformation gather in the surrounding landscape. The painting frames loss as a shared passage, holding…
Additional Artwork Images: Artwork Description: Here I reimagine an airplane cabin as a stage for collective delusion and historical collapse. Suspended at 35,000 feet over the South Pacific, the painting assembles an impossible cast of cultural figures – Frida Kahlo, Van Gogh, Warhol, Elvis, the Wicked Witch, and Michelangelo’s David – gathered mid-flight as though…
Additional Artwork Images: Artwork Description: Sibbitt turns a childhood memory of wonder into an allegory of contemporary life: chaotic, theatrical, absurd, and perpetually in motion. Humor and menace occupy the same ring. Like the three-ring circus of memory, everything seems to be happening at once – each figure absorbed in a private drama while participating…
Additional Artwork Images: Artwork Description: On the grounds of a forgotten asylum, the air hums with uneasy delight. Lightning cracks beyond the moss-dark trees, where white hoods dance around a burning cross – their ritual blending with the soft hiss of rain, the soft clink of glasses. By the pool, two men play cards —…
Additional Artwork Images: Artwork Description: This composition blends carnival absurdity with religious undertones — a parody of The Last Supper, but staged as a grotesque birthday party where innocence, ritual, and decadence collide. At the head of the table, a Lucha Libre figure stands in for Christ, his masked face raised in theatrical command. Judas…
Additional Artwork Images: Artwork Description: Sibbitt transforms the circus tent into a chamber of surreal introspection, where the self becomes both spectacle and witness. The scene hovers in the uncanny stillness before revelation, suspended between amusement and dread. Width: 130 Height: 86 Artwork year of completion: 2025 Price: 35000 Currency: USD : $ USD (US…
