Barbara Sartorius Bjelland is an American artist, author and chaplain. Barbara began drawing at an early age and spent part of her childhood in Mexico, where she was inspired by her beautiful surroundings and colorful folk art. Her work incorporates the sense of a mysterious unseen world infusing our own, using movement, light, color and imagination. Barbara has degrees in Ancient History, Faith Formation and Theology and studied Studio Art at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She has received multiple grants, exhibits her work widely, and accepts commissions. She delights to combine visual art with her work as a chaplain and author, and to lead workshops and community art projects.
