Personal and Artistic Statement Looking back, I realize that my professional journey prepared me, without my being aware of it, for the stage I have now reached. I studied music during my teenage years and later graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. I then completed master’s degrees in Public Administration and Public Services Management, Educational Sciences, and Web Technologies. Later, I studied at the Faculty of Arts and continued with a master’s degree in painting. At first glance, these fields may seem very different. They may even appear to have no connection at all. For me, however, they were never entirely separate stages. Music has remained with me in the way I feel the rhythm of a work. Mathematics shaped my need for structure and balance. Even mathematics, although it may be difficult to believe, has a humanistic side. Behind formulas lies the human need to understand the world, to discover connections, and to bring some order to what initially seems to be nothing but chaos. In the end, my artistic side proved stronger. It had probably been there all along, but for a long time I did not allow it to take first place. Behind all the paths I followed lay the same desire: to free myself from the burden of words and to find a form of expression that did not depend entirely on them. For me, painting became that form. I did not leave mathematics, music, education, or technology behind. They are still present in what I do, sometimes visibly and sometimes not. They can be found in the structure of a painting, in its rhythm, in the relationships between forms, and in the tension between order and disorder. My artistic vision begins with this meeting between chaos and order. I am interested in life as it is felt, not only as it can be described. Emotion changes form, colour changes meaning, and sometimes an image says more through what it leaves unexplained. Painting It seems like a simple word, like many others. But to name this process is already to place limits around it. I chose to paint life. Not as form or outline, but as vibration. Life never stands still. It changes even as we try to look at it. This is why I do not try to reproduce it exactly. I try to preserve something of its movement, its unease, and the way it brings us together and pulls us apart. In every painting, I try to open a window onto the invisible fabric that connects us all. Sometimes I begin with harmony. At other times, with fear, confrontation, loneliness, or loss. I do not try to confine these states within an explanation. I let them speak through colour and form. I studied at the Faculty of Arts of “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați between 2021 and 2024, and I am currently in the second year of my master’s degree. I have taken part in group exhibitions in Galați, Brăila, Bucharest, Madrid, and Venice, presenting works such as Beginning, The Traveller’s Heart, Heart in Blue, Confrontation, The Couple, Self-Portrait, Loneliness, The Four Horsemen, Mosaic, Future, Universe, and The Tree of Life. An important moment in my artistic journey was the solo exhibition “LIFE LIVE”, held from 3 to 17 October 2025 at Casa Artelor in Galați. The exhibition brought together 25 oil paintings on canvas. It was the first time I saw works created during different periods and in different states of mind brought together in the same space. Only then did I understand more clearly that they were all part of the same journey. Painting did not enter my life as a break from everything that came before. It grew out of all those experiences. Perhaps the road was longer than it should have been. Or perhaps it was exactly the road I needed in order to arrive here.
