Sieglinde Grunwald studied Fine Arts in Braunschweig and in Hannover on the University for Art and Design.The study period was followed by several stays in artists' residences in Tuscany, Italy.
The focus of her art work lies in the field of painting, where she explores the relationship between figuration and abstraction, blurring the boundaries between these two approaches. Recognizable and schematic forms and figures are used to establish a connection with the viewer and open up narrative possibilities.
